Moisture testing

It is imperative that your flooring contractor tests the moisture in your timber floor or sub-floor prior to undertaking any works if you have any of the following.

1. Suspicious water damage has taken place.

2. New concrete has been poured.

3. Notice excessive movement in your timber floor.

This is because any evident moisture in your sub–floor or timber flooring, will adversely affect the performance and look of a feature timber floor.

Please note: Timber is a hygroscopic material, absorbing and exuding moisture. It is for this reason that all care must be taken with moisture readings; both of sub-floor and flooring upon arrival on a job site.
